As a Senior Civil Designer, you’ll use your technical expertise to turn engineering concepts into detailed plan sets that make wastewater infrastructure possible. Your work will directly support engineers and project managers in delivering solutions that improve quality of life for the people we serve. Project types include, but are not limited to, treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, and other municipal and industrial infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Produce accurate, high‑quality plan sets and design drawings for wastewater treatment and collection projects
Apply industry standards, codes, and best practices to ensure plans are buildable, efficient, and clear
Provide guidance, direction, oversight, and specialized assistance to project team members to achieve deliverable goals that meet the project deadlines
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment to anticipate and solve problems, and determine requirements for various complex project designs
Review plans of substantial complexity for accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Contribute to project success by managing deadlines, tracking revisions, and supporting coordination with clients and contractors

Engineers and project managers trust you to anticipate complex design needs and provide quality solutions
Projects move smoothly through review and construction because of the clarity of your work

Basic Requirements
Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or related field
15+ years of civil design experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or similar design software) and ability to visualize designs in 2D or 3D dimensions
Strong knowledge of drafting standards and wastewater infrastructure design
Demonstrated ability to solve difficult and complex problems with minimal direction
Attention to detail, with the ability to balance accuracy and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with strong communication skills and a proactive, client‑service mindset
Familiarity working in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Ability to multi‑task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Ability to work occasional overtime
All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (e.g., criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor‑vehicle records research) in compliance with applicable laws
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of civil design experience, with a focus on water or wastewater projects
Experience with civil site design, site grading modeling, and pipeline design
Physical Qualifications
Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including flame‑resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
May be required to travel to off‑site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
