Job Description Overview
This position is for the EB West Maintenance & Modernization Site in Bremerton, WA.
Position located in Bremerton, WA. Maintenance and Modernization has an opening for Manufacturing Technicians responsible for performing submarine shipboard and manufacturing work to support delivered ships at the EB West site.
The successful candidates must be experienced in naval submarine Maintenance and Modernization activity and be flexible as well as adaptable, working in a team environment.
A Manufacturing Technician is a multi-disciplined person that must have one or more skills within the trades. Electricians will be and considered first.
Candidates shall be experienced in reading blueprints and math skills necessary for establishing or determining ships lines relative to positioning components for installation. Candidates shall be willing to learn new skills and apply them as needed with the appropriate training.
This is not an entry level position. EB is looking for skilled manufacturing technicians that can perform the functions with reasonable oversight.
Qualifications
Required:
\n High School diploma/GED or equivalent
\n
1 year of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry
\n
Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is a must
\n
Must have the ability to perform the functions of the craft to the proper procedures and policies in a safe manner
\n
Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification
\n
Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification
\n
Must be able to qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification
\n
Must be able to qualify and maintain the EB Heavy Metals Program requirements
\n
Selected candidates must be able to pass a practical exam for position applied
\n
\n :
\n Knowledge of SP/SSP's, DIs and SIs
\n
Minimum of 1 year working in an industrial marine environment
\n
Electrical, RADCON, and QA experience in maritime environment
\n
Skills
\n Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States is required. Must be willing to accept extended work assignments. The organization is a traveling team
\n
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
\n
Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher
\n
The successful candidate will be expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement
\n
