Summary The Warehouse Lead oversees daily operations of the stockroom, ensuring accurate inventory management, organization, and flow of materials. This role is responsible for leading stockroom staff, maintaining system accuracy through cycle counts, processing inventory customer orders, and coordinating with other departments to meet production and inventory control requirements.
Inventory Control & Accuracy
Generate and maintain scheduled cycle count plans in accordance with company policy.
Perform and oversee daily cycle counts, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
Update inventory records in Syteline based on cycle count results.
Coordinate and document adjustments for inventory variances, reporting root causes to management.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Monitor and reconcile planned vs. posted inventory to ensure physical counts match system records.
Perform daily reviews of SROs (Shop Repair Orders) listed on the ship list to investigate and identify any planned material that has not yet been posted.
Monitor and reconcile expired shelf‑life inventory to ensure physical counts align with system records and verify that no expired materials remain in the warehouse.
Stockroom Operations
Lead day‑to‑day stockroom activities including quantity moves, storing, picking, kitting, issuing, and returning materials.
Conduct a review of returned materials to determine if return processing is appropriate or if they should remain assigned to the SRO.
Ensure proper labeling, organization, and storage of inventory to maximize space and maintain easy access.
Oversee incoming and outgoing material transactions and verify quantities, part numbers, and conditions.
Maintain proper documentation for inventory movements and material transactions.
Ensure materials are staged for production in a timely and accurate manner.
Oversee the pulling, issuing and shipment of inventory tied to Customer Orders and prepare necessary QA and Shipment documents.
Team Leadership & Training
Lead stockroom staff and assign daily tasks and priorities.
Train and guide team members on standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and support cross‑training initiatives.
Collaborate with Leads and Supervisors to anticipate stockroom needs and adjust staff accordingly.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with all company policies and enforce safety and quality standards in the stockroom.
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free stockroom conditions.
Conduct regular inspections and support audits (internal/external) as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and ERP systems (Syteline).
Experience in cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory analysis.
Experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
