YUZUCO
Ingredient Sales Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Company: YUZUCO is the leading importer of yuzu juice in the U.S., and one of the largest U.S. importers of NFC yuzu juice and specialty Japanese citrus ingredients. YUZUCO supplies craft producers and major CPG brands with authentic, high‑quality products that elevate flavor.
About YUZUCO YUZUCO’s mission is to make yuzu the next lemon. We’re shaking up the citrus market by popularizing yuzu and introducing innovation into an otherwise stagnant category. We are a fast‑growing company that focuses on sustainable, profitable growth and long‑term success.
The Role We’re looking for a technically minded Ingredient Sales Manager who understands both citrus and food safety and can translate that expertise into new relationships and revenue growth. This person thrives at the intersection of science and strategy, bridging conversations between R&D and sourcing teams while driving YUZUCO’s ingredient business forward.
You’ll lead the charge in managing and expanding YUZUCO’s B2B ingredient sales.
Key Responsibilities
Manage inbound and existing ingredient sales – respond to inquiries, provide documentation, and ensure smooth execution from sampling to delivery.
Coordinate logistics for urgent or specialized shipments (e.g., working with freight carriers for LTL shipments and arranging air freight when needed).
Develop and execute sales strategies for YUZUCO’s ingredient portfolio (yuzu juice, juice powder, yuzu kosho, yuzu oil, candied peel, lemon juice powder) targeting beverage, confectionery, and CPG manufacturers.
Collaborate with founders to explore and commercialize new ingredient opportunities (e.g., calamansi juice, new citrus powders).
Guide customers through technical and regulatory documentation (FSVP, HACCP, allergen, SQF, COA, etc.).
Maintain a big‑picture view of how ingredient sales support YUZUCO’s broader business strategy.
Ideal Profile
True believer – loves yuzu flavor and believes in our citrus‑obsessed mission.
Technical foundation in food science, citrus, or flavor applications with some sales experience.
Proven ability to build new business and long‑term relationships.
Collaborative operator comfortable in small, fast‑moving teams.
Strategic thinker who connects technical details to growth and brand vision.
Preferred: individuals who’ve transitioned from technical roles into sales.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + commission (e.g., 5% of profit from new customer accounts, paid upon invoice payment). Full health, dental, and vision coverage; paid vacation; and equity participation.
Why YUZUCO Yuzu is on track to become the next major flavor trend – and YUZUCO is leading the movement. This role offers significant responsibility and the chance to shape the future of premium citrus in America.
