Position Summary:

The Transition Coordinator will work collaboratively with the principals of alternative sites, Student and Family Services social workers, the Enrollment Center, Special Education, and site teams to transition at-risk students. Minimum Qualifications:

Education: • Bachelor's degree in education, social services, criminal justice, or a related field - or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. • Master's degree and current Oklahoma teaching and/or principal certification preferred.

Experience: • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in public school administration, supervision, or a related leadership role. • Experience working with underserved youth or transitional student populations, preferably in a mentoring, counseling, or educational capacity.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: • Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, and regulations related to transitional students and special populations (e.g., IDEA, McKinney-Vento). • Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating student support programs. • Understanding of trauma-informed care, culturally responsive practices, and strengths-based approaches. • Strong understanding of community-based supports and wraparound services. • Familiarity with educational models that promote equity, inclusion, and social justice.

Skills and Abilities • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, school personnel, and community organizations. • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. • Effective in public speaking, group facilitation, and professional development delivery. • Skilled in data analysis, program evaluation, and adaptive planning. • Ability to build and maintain community partnerships; established network within social services and/or corporate community is a plus. • Leadership experience in budgeting, coordination, and marketing of educational or community-based programs. • Flexible, self-motivated, and creative thinker with problem-solving capabilities. • Ability to work under pressure, respond to emergencies, and interact with individuals experiencing emotional distress. • Understanding of the role of social-emotional learning in educational success. • Ability to maintain a consistent schedule and adapt to dynamic school environments. • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
