Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician under supervision, performs entry to mid-level mechanical, pneumatic and electrical troubleshooting and repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and building in accordance with manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches, technical support, including basic fabrication.
Duties/Responsibilities: Performs repairs & preventative maintenance - this includes but is not limited to adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments to sustain and improve operations; repairing or replacing defective, and consumable parts; reconditioning or repairing machines and tools used for manufacturing. Identifies needed parts, supplies, and repair items and processes required to maintain the inventory levels. Perform assembly with instructions to various support equipment. Provides support and back-up for other members of the department. Is aware of Maintenance Industry Standards. Follows all safety related policies/guidelines, rules, regulations, technical instructions, proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout policy. Situational awareness and identifying unsafe behaviors and conditions. Supports building maintenance activities with or without both internal and external resources. Help assist in reorganization of plant layout - including cleaning, organizing, moving racking/warehouse equipment and/or production equipment in a safe manner. Change grinding wheels on production equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and / or programming, electrical schematics, hydraulics, motors and controls, automation experience is preferred. Qualified to work on equipment with electrical systems to 480VAC. LOTO, and Arc Flash training Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use basic hand tools. Able to operate forklift and scissor lift. Ability to read basic measuring devices such as tape measure, calipers and micrometer, multi-meter, pressure/flow, misc. test equipment, hardness tester. Use vertical/horizontal saw, hand grinders, drill press, mill and lathe, and other power tools. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite including the use of email. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of experience required, 3-5 years of experience is preferred. Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move no more than 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
