Position Summary

NSC is seeking a Director of Development who is passionate about supporting and empowering our Pennsylvania immigrant communities. Reporting to the Executive Director, the

Director of Development will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all fundraising activities, including annual funds, major gifts, planned gifts, and special events.

Responsibilities include the overall design, management, leadership, and implementation of NSC's fundraising program, which will include individual giving, major donor cultivation, direct mail, online giving, major gifts, planned gifts, special events, and corporate and foundation relations. In addition to fundraising, the position will be responsible for the management and coordination of event planning as well as grant writing assistance.

Focused on donor stewardship and network expansion, the Director of Development will also play a leadership role in fundraising communications, building on NSC's fundraising efforts and ensuring that the organization has the resources necessary to support its mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans to meet organizational goals. Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Plan and execute fundraising initiatives and manage special events. Manage the development budget and track progress toward financial goals. Provide leadership, support, and training to the development team and volunteers. Raise awareness of the NSC's mission through community outreach and communications. Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting on fundraising activities and donor information. Fundraising and Donor Relations

Build and maintain donor relationships. Lead cultivation and stewardship efforts with mid-level donors. Partner with the executive director to steward major donors. Articulate and achieve team-level goals related to donor retention and increased gift size. Develop strategies to grow the NSC's donor community. Maintain an on-going knowledge of donors and potential donors in the community to maximize support for the organization. Develop effective personal solicitation programs, providing leadership to staff, board and committee members. Oversee planning, organizing, executing, and evaluating all fundraising and special events. Create and execute event plans that identify key staff and volunteer roles, meet budgetary goals, and are completed within established timelines. Develop strong networks within the local community, cold call or develop and grow prospects for potential income streams, event sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities. Coordinate all logistics and fundraising materials for donor-related events, including friend-raisers and other cultivation opportunities. Responsible for helping to identify new donors and organizing initiatives to solicit funding and sponsorships. Strengthen solicitation campaigns, event planning, grant writing, planned giving, and direct mail programs. Experience in writing grant proposals with demonstrated success in securing foundation and corporation funding. Research opportunities for public grants, foundation, and corporate funding. Event Management

Lead special events aimed at donor engagement and network expansion. Manage fundraising and logistics for annual major events (Global Tastes). Ensure appropriate follow-up communication after each event to grow NSC's donor community. Team Leadership

Supervise and support two development staff. Along with the Executive Director, serve as a liaison to the board's development committee. Communicate progress to the executive director and the senior leadership team. In partnership with the executive director, develop a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization's fundraising and resource needs. Communications

Produce a quarterly newsletter providing updates to NSC's donor community. Manage, increase, and enhance NSC's social media presence. Manage a significant year-end fundraising effort using both print and digital communications. Develop a communications strategy to ensure donors are engaged and informed. Essential Qualifications

Exceptional written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build relationships and motivate people. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize with attention to detail. Experience with donor databases and CRM software required. A strategic and analytical mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in writing grant proposals with demonstrated success in securing foundation and corporation funding. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to maintain confidentiality and informational privacy. High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism required. Must be flexible, highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Ability to set and meet deadlines. Non-Essential Functions

Attend relevant workshops or join professional groups as necessary to maintain professional knowledge and licensure. Adhere to NSC's confidentiality guidelines and ensure the appropriate handling of sensitive information. Facilitate and attend relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals. Complete special projects specific to the function of the department or as needed for the department as directed by Supervisor. Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations. Required Education and Experience

BA/BS degree in business administration or related field from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 5 years of proven development/fundraising experience in the non-profit sector. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Requirements

On-site work required at NSC's Philadelphia office. NSC currently operates on a hybrid remote/office schedule, subject to change based on evolving conditions, organizational needs, and client priorities. Off-site events or meetings as needed Familiarity with NSC's mission, vision, values, programs, services, and strategic priorities. Adhere to all NSC policies and procedures. Noise level is generally moderate. Work is primarily performed indoors but may require occasional travel to community sites, business partners, or social service locations.
