Title: Electrical Engineer - Power (Substation Design)
Location: St. George, UT (Relocation Package + Sign-On Bonus) Alternate Office: San Antonio, TX Not remote – on-site position
Come join a leader in EPC solutions for power infrastructure projects across the western U.S. Our teams design and build substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy systems that power communities and industries across the region. We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in power engineering to take a lead role in medium to high voltage substation design (12.47 kV–345 kV). This is a hands-on, project-based position ideal for someone who wants to see their designs come to life in the field.
What You’ll Do
Design physical layouts, grounding, and HV/MV systems for new and existing substations
Develop schematic diagrams and protection & control (P&C) systems
Create raceway and cable schedules, and support MV switchgear and E-house design
Work cross-functionally with civil and structural teams to ensure design integrity
Perform system studies and calculations (short-circuit, load flow, grounding) using modeling software such as ETAP
Calculate AC station service and DC battery sizing, and design lightning protection systems
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of professional experience in power or substation design
Strong understanding of both physical and protection & control design for 12.47–345 kV systems
Experience with ETAP or similar analysis tools ()
Familiarity with BlueBeam, Visual, and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Willingness to work on-site and travel occasionally for project needs
