A mid-sized CPA and business consulting firm is seeking a
Audit
Senior
to join its San Bernardino, CA office. The Audit Senior is responsible for leading audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality work that complies with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage audit engagements for a variety of clients in different industries. Plan audit assignments, including determining audit scope, developing audit programs, and identifying key risk areas. Supervise, train, and review the work of junior auditors to ensure quality and accuracy. Perform detailed testing of financial statement accounts and internal controls. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and provide recommendations for improvement. Ensure audits are completed on time and within budget. Prepare and review financial statements, audit reports, and management letters. Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their business, address issues, and provide updates. Collaborate with audit managers and partners on engagement planning, execution, and wrap-up. Stay current with changes in accounting and auditing standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, ISA). Must have some of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred). CPA qualification (or in progress). 3+ years of experience in public accounting or external audit. Strong understanding of auditing standards, accounting principles, and financial reporting. Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CaseWare, IDEA, CCH, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines. High level of attention to detail and critical thinking ability.
