General Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and technically skilled
Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)
to join our team in a fast-paced automotive parts manufacturing environment. The SQE will play a critical role as a key liaison; ensuring supplier compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory quality standards, supporting new product launches, and driving continuous improvement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Supplier Quality Management Develop, implement, and improve systems to ensure supplier compliance with quality standards. Conduct supplier audits, manage PPAP submissions, and lead corrective action processes. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes. New Product Launch Support Plan and execute quality systems for new product introductions. Work with suppliers and customers throughout APQP phases to ensure readiness and compliance. Translate customer expectations into measurable quality requirements. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions using tools like 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone. Analyze quality data (CPK, Gauge R&R, etc.) to identify trends and drive improvements. Develop and refine sampling plans, inspection procedures, and testing protocols. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with engineering, production, and supplier teams to improve product and process quality. Provide training on quality principles and tools to internal teams and suppliers. Support tooling reviews and improvements, including stamping, injection molding, and die casting. Documentation & Reporting Create and maintain work instructions, inspection checklists, and quality documentation. Prepare and present quality reports, dashboards, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Participate in the development and maintenance of quality information systems. Desired Experience:
3-5 years of experience in
quality engineering , preferably in the
automotive
or
manufacturing industry . Hands-on experience with
APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001, IATF 16949,
and
customer-specific requirements . Knowledge of
tooling design, dimensional reviews,
and
manufacturing processes
(e.g., stamping, molding, casting). Proven track record in
supplier development, auditing,
and
problem-solving . Familiarity with
GD&T, SPC,
and
measurement systems analysis . Experience with
cost recovery
and managing supplier non-conformance. Other Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field a plus. Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally to supplier locations as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software. Certification in Six Sigma, ISO/IATF, ASQ CQE, or similar is a plus. Benefits:
