Position Overview:

The Senior Repair Technician will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of electronic test and measurement instruments. This role requires extensive technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to handle complex repairs while mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance verification, calibration of complex Test and Measuring equipment utilizing documented procedures.

Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and component-level repairs on equipment ranging from DC to 50Ghz including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Analog and Digital Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, and Power Supplies, and other precision test equipment.

Interpret schematics, block diagrams, and service manuals to identify and resolve equipment failures.

Use specialized test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.) for troubleshooting and verification.

Maintain accurate repair records, documentation, and test results in accordance with company standards.

Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety compliance standards.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering skill development within the team.

Stay current with new technologies, instruments, and repair methodologies in the test & measurement field.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase repair efficiency and turnaround time.

Support customer service teams with technical insights regarding repair feasibility and timelines.

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or direct military training equivalent. PMEL training a big plus.

Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience calibrating and repairing electronic test and measurement equipment.

Proven component level troubleshooting skills.

Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, RF, and power electronics.

Skilled in soldering, desoldering, and component replacement (including SMD and through-hole).

Proficiency with test equipment used in troubleshooting and calibration.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Strong written and oral English communication skills

Strong math skills.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Qualifications:

Prior experience working with OEM service centers or authorized repair facilities.

Knowledge of calibration procedures and standards.

Familiarity with ISO 17025 quality systems.
