Senior Site Reliability Engineer Location:

Raleigh, NC (hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote).

Duration:

3‑month W2 contract to hire.

This customer is building an SRE practice/platform. The goal is to establish robust observability, evaluate and implement the tool stack, and expand a coder team with a senior staff engineer. The role requires industry knowledge in SRE, hands‑on technical experience, guidance for junior engineers, and leadership in migrating tools.

Responsibilities

Define and track reliability and observability OKRs, including SLOs and SLIs.

Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems.

Enable AIOps for auto‑response, self‑healing, and anomaly analysis.

Develop and implement automation solutions to reduce toil and improve engineering efficiency.

Identify and address performance bottlenecks across applications and infrastructure.

Collaborate with incident management to resolve outages quickly and minimize downtime.

Work with development and operations teams to embed observability and resiliency into deployments.

Lead capacity planning in partnership with product, infrastructure, and architecture teams.

Improve reliability by closing gaps in architecture, services, and tooling.

Modernize disaster recovery for on‑premise and cloud‑based solutions.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

Qualifications & Skills

7+ years of SRE experience; emphasis on SLOs and service reliability.

Proficient scripting in at least one of Python, Go, Bash, JavaScript, or Shell.

Experience with Dynatrace, Datadog, ELK; Ansible experience is a plus.

Relevant SRE certifications and a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).

FinTech experience a strong advantage.

Strong troubleshooting skills, including Java/.NET profiling, networking fundamentals, and packet capture analysis.

Exposure to Linux/AIX environments and enterprise technology stacks.

Experience training and mentoring teams.

Familiarity with observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace).

Domain expertise in obs­ervability, automation, or container orchestration.

Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or a combination of education and equivalent experience).

Pay & Benefits Pay range: $75.00–$85.00/hr. Benefits include medical, dental & vision, critical illness, accident, and hospital coverage, 401(k) with pre‑tax and Roth options, life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, and PTO.
