Heat Treat Intern (Co-Op)
McWilliams Forge Company, in Rockaway, NJ, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Heat Treat Intern to work under our back-end operations supervisor and assist with identifying opportunities for process improvement through data gathering and analytics. We are looking for a candidate who has attention to detail, a good attitude, and a strong work ethic. This role will focus on process optimization, problem-solving, and helping drive operational efficiency by analyzing data, recommending improvements, and implementing solutions across various departments. Job Description Develop efficient section sized and cycle process for the Heat Treat department Schedule furnace run plan to optimize production time Maintain project documentation Provide administrative support, maintain project documentation Assist engineering and heat treat departments with long-range projects Assist the team as needed Qualifications Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced work environment. Understanding of coding languages i.e. Python, C++, Matlab, Solidworks, etc. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. The range of pay for this role is $19 to $20 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc. This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
