Manpower Engineering is exclusively partnering with a very reputable, established and growing construction company in McFarland, WI on a highly visible and direct hire/permanent Construction Estimator position that’s available due to continued growth and has strong development and advancement opportunities.
The company is a commercial and industrial construction company with over 50 years of experience in new building construction and remodeling. They have a strong track record of success – 20-25% year-over-year growth and the projects to double their sales in the near future. Our client specializes in tenant build-outs, design/build projects, and commercial interior build-outs, serving clients across the United States. Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Plan: Up to a base salary of $160,000 plus bonus.

Job Description The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and project requirements to determine overall project costs. The Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure competitive and complete proposals.
Responsibilities
Estimate Preparation: Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for all phases of construction; quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs; develop and maintain cost databases, unit prices, and historical cost information.
Bid Management: Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotations; evaluate bids for scope coverage, qualifications, and pricing accuracy; prepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and presentations.
Preconstruction Support: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners during design development to provide cost advice and value engineering solutions; assist in developing project budgets, schedules, and phasing plans.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and revisions; prepare takeoffs and cost summaries using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or Sage Estimating); present estimates to management and clients with clear supporting documentation.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Coordinate with project management and field teams to review actual costs versus estimates for continuous improvement; stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
5+ years of estimating experience, particularly with commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
Experience with construction means, methods, and materials.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel; Bluebeam experience a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
