Job Summary
Project Lead Structural Engineer – onsite support at Surry Nuclear Power Station. Provide leadership of a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and cross‑disciplinary engineers, and manage a variety of exciting projects in the nuclear power industry.
Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and design of steel, concrete, and reinforced concrete systems to execute assigned tasks.
Work on a wide range of projects for various clients, supporting them as required.
Direct the preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports, and other deliverables; support designers in drawing development.
Supervise and mentor junior staff to ensure quality engineering deliverables.
Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using advanced computer tools.
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, plant site visits, construction coordination, and field verification of designs.
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering (Structural) from an ABET‑accredited program.
Ten or more years of experience in the design and analysis of industrial, heavy commercial, or nuclear facility structures.
Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
Familiarity with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valued, But Not Required
MS in Civil Engineering (Structural).
On‑site construction support experience.
PE or SE license.

Compensation Range $116,620.00 – $179,890.00
