Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up III to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. This role requires advanced expertise in CNC machining processes, tooling setup, programming, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality machined parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and operate CNC machines for production runs, including selecting tooling, loading materials, and securing workpieces
Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop CNC programs for machining operations
Program CNC machines using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) or manual programming techniques to generate toolpaths and machining sequences
Conduct test runs and verify program accuracy by performing trial cuts and measurements on sample workpieces
Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules
Troubleshoot complex machining issues and develop innovative solutions to optimize performance
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
Train and mentor junior CNC operators on setup, operation, and programming techniques
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment preferred
Expertise in CNC programming languages, such as G-code and M-code, and proficiency in CAM software
Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and tolerances
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, models, and technical specifications
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues and optimize CNC programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy
Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate machining projects
Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures
EDUCATION
2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred.
