Salary: $135,000- $180,000 annually
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager (SPM) to lead a $65 million development project with all-new utility infrastructure and 67,000 square feet of new buildings on the side of a mountain. This is a rare opportunity to manage a transformational project in a complex, natural environment that requires exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of commercial construction and infrastructure systems.
The SPM will oversee the entire project lifecycle—from groundbreaking to closeout—ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full leadership and oversight of the project from pre-construction through closeout.
Collaborate with design teams on project development, ensuring constructibility and efficiency.
Develop and implement project workflows, schedules, and strategic execution plans.
Prepare, manage, and report on project budgets and forecasts.
Identify, negotiate, and manage sub-contractors and vendors.
Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring daily progress aligns with project milestones.
Ensure full compliance with the approved OSHA safety plan and lead safety culture on site.
Interface with Executive Leadership, providing regular progress updates and early identification of challenges and solutions.
Maintain proactive and professional communication with county officials, AHJs, and inspectors.
Ensure quality control, adherence to specifications, and timely resolution of field issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with full responsibility from estimating through completion.
Experience working for a General Contractor or Construction Management Firm. Proven success managing complex infrastructure and vertical construction projects valued between $30M and $100M+.
Strong background in commercial buildings (multi- and single-story) and significant civil/infrastructure work.
Demonstrated leadership in mountain, rural, or environmentally sensitive locations is a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies
Construction Expertise: Deep understanding of building methods, site logistics, and sequencing. Skilled in managing subcontractors, procurement, infrastructure systems, and multi-phase projects.
Financial Management: Proficient in budget preparation, cost tracking, invoice approval, and resolving financial disputes.
Team Leadership: Experienced in supervising superintendents, office staff, and external partners. Ability to build a collaborative, high-performance team.
Value Engineering & Problem Solving: Strategic thinker with a solutions-oriented approach. Skilled at identifying cost savings without compromising quality.
Communication: Clear and timely communicator with executives, design teams, inspectors, and local officials. Able to present challenges and solutions proactively and transparently.
Safety Leadership: OSHA 30‑hour certification required (OSHA 40). Track record of driving a culture of safety on site.
Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and construction management software (e.g., Procore).
Location On-site at Forest Home's 40,000 Valley of the Falls Dr, Forest Falls, CA campus (in-person presence required due to the nature and location of the project).
