Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor
to join our Springfield, Illinois plant. This position will lead the Food Safety charge as we complete a large-scale expansion and position ourselves for substantial growth. Responsibilities
Coordinates quality assurance activities (e.g., audits, training, purchasing, etc.). Monitors and verifies the HACCP plan's CCPs, adhering to policy and procedure. Conduct GMP and sanitation audits of operations and warehouse areas. Works with operations personnel on quality and safety issues. Places product on hold, release or disposition as necessary while adhering to policy and procedure. Evaluates damaged products. Work with the FSQA Director to establish the SQF program. Develop and further FDA compliance guidelines. Calibration of equipment, validation, verification of food safety systems. Ensure proper sanitation procedures are being followed to produce safe quality food. Qualifications
High school or equivalent degree required; a 4 year bachelor's degree is preferred. 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance management or supervision role, preferably in the food processing industry. Experience may be used as a substitute for education. Complete understanding of Food Safety Guidelines/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safe practices and procedures. Understanding of HACCP Plans. Understanding of government regulations (FDA, USDA). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage tasks. Job Details
