Project Controls Analyst I – HR Green, Inc.

HR Green, Inc. is a trusted partner in engineering and construction services with a tradition of community building and client satisfaction. The Project Controls Analyst I will support Project Managers on transportation and construction projects across Texas, coordinating invoicing, budgets, schedules, and documentation to ensure projects stay on track from proposal through final invoice.
Summary This role is a key right‑hand partner to Project Managers, responsible for maintaining project data, tracking financial and schedule performance, and ensuring accurate billing and documentation. You’ll collaborate with accounting, clients, and internal teams to keep projects organized and stakeholders confident in progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist PMs with development and organization of project data (fee estimates, project plans, schedules, status reports, cost reports, backlog projections).
Document and maintain project file structure in accordance with HR Green standards.
Update and maintain project risk logs.
Identify discrepancies between actual progress and project schedule or budget.
Input project work plans as per professional services agreements.
Update work plans to reflect accurate resource allocations.
Collect project data to identify potential variances and financial issues.
Assist PMs with monthly billing, follow‑up with clients for approvals and payments.
Maintain project data in Deltek Vantagepoint and record activity as directed.
Document project lessons learned and assist with project close‑out per HR Green standards.
Prepare project documents for archive storage under the guidance of the Lead Project Control Analyst.
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in finance, business, project management, or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Zero to two years of project controls experience (preferred).
Knowledge of project budget management and financial indicators.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Detail‑oriented with a high standard for quality.
Ability to work collaboratively across organizational levels.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database software; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint an advantage.
