Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools serving grades K‑12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. Position: Middle School ELA/Social Studies Teacher As a middle school ELA/Social Studies teacher at Brooke, you will lead a classroom where strong relationships with students enable academic and personal growth. You will collaborate with colleagues, attend regular data meetings, be observed approximately 20 times per year, and participate in nearly 300 hours of professional development across the school year. Your daily schedule is 7:15 am – 4:20 pm. Salary range is $72,000–$128,000, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Design and implement engaging ELA and Social Studies instruction that meets diverse student needs.
Build a joyful classroom culture with high behavioral and academic expectations.
Collaborate with colleagues and families to support student learning and well‑being.
Participate in data meetings, classroom observations, and extensive professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
At least 2 years as a lead teacher, with a proven record of fostering inclusive, anti‑racist practices.
Belief that great teaching closes the achievement gap and confidence in students’ capabilities.
Professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
Ability to start in July 2026.
