Key Responsibilities
Lead design and release of
body closure components
(hoods, doors, liftgates, hinges, latches, seals, etc.).
Work closely with cross‑functional teams including styling, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers.
Create and manage part releases using product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
Review and approve 3D models and 2D drawings created in
CATIA V5/V6 or NX .
Conduct
design feasibility, packaging, and manufacturing assessments .
Manage
DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM creation , and validation plans.
Coordinate testing and validation of closure systems, including durability, NVH, and safety.
Support build events, root cause analysis, and resolve design issues throughout the development cycle.
Ensure designs meet
cost, weight, timing, and regulatory requirements .
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
3–7 years
of experience in automotive design and release, specifically in
body closures .
Knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal design, joining technologies, and sealing systems.
Experience working with OEM release systems and supplier coordination.
Familiarity with
automotive regulatory standards , manufacturing processes, and material selection.
