Job Summary Job Summary: The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial equipment and processes by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation and electrical systems. This position involves working in various industrial settings, such as manufacturing plants, refineries, and power facilities. The I&E Technician will collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the reliability and functionality of critical systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and electrical equipment to ensure they meet operational standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues to identify and resolve problems quickly, minimizing downtime.
Repairs: Execute necessary repairs or replacements of malfunctioning electrical components, control systems, and instrumentation to restore equipment to proper working condition.
Instrument Calibration: Calibrate and configure various instruments, including pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, and control valves, to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance, and update maintenance logs and databases as required.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all work is performed safely and that all equipment meets safety standards.
Emergency Response: Act promptly during emergency situations to mitigate risks and restore equipment functionality.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support new installations, upgrades, and modifications to instrumentation and electrical systems.
Training: Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and attend training sessions to enhance skills and stay current with emerging technologies.
Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance activities.
