Placements Unlimited Inc. specializes in identifying, locating, and evaluating some of the strongest talent in Central Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
Position Summary
The CNC Machinist will set up and operate conventional and special-purpose machines to fabricate metallic parts. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, use measuring instruments, and follow general shop practices while maintaining a strong commitment to safety. Candidates should have prior machining experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Comply with all shop and department safety rules and practices. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Safely operate machines, hand tools, and accurately read measuring instruments. Lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 25 feet. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations. Measure, mark, and scribe reference points on material or workpieces. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines (mills, lathes, saws, drills, etc.). Calculate and set machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut. Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments. Verify finished workpieces meet specifications. Perform trial runs to confirm machine accuracy. Fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies, verifying dimensions and alignment. Program CNC Mill and Lathe as required. Operate forklift trucks, overhead cranes, and hoists as needed. Qualifications
Previous machining experience required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. Strong oral communication and listening skills. Knowledge of general shop practices and safety procedures. Willingness to wear hearing protection and safety glasses at all times. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
