Job Summary

W e are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Automation Technician with a strong background in Molecular Biology or Genetics to join a high-throughput commercial laboratory. This is a non-research role focused on routine, repetitive Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and DNA extraction workflows. The ideal candidate is experienced in working in a fast-paced, regulated lab environment and is comfortable with the repetitive nature of commercial analytical testing.

Job Description

Perform high-throughput NGS library preparations and DNA extractions from plant samples (primarily cotton and soybean), using semi-automated and automated platforms. Operate laboratory instrumentation to complete sequencing runs in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines. Accurately prepare samples, reagents, and maintain inventory of lab consumables. Register completed analyses using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Follow pre-established workflows and timelines for routine sample processing. Conduct routine lab maintenance and participate in team-based continuous improvement efforts. Communicate proactively with team members and supervisors on project progress and issues. Support ongoing lab operations to meet customer demand for genetic testing services. Shift: 8am - 5pm Skills Required

Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience post-bachelor's degree. Hands-on experience in a high-throughput testing lab (processing over 200K samples annually). Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques and DNA extraction methods. Experience working with lab automation platforms and liquid handling systems. Proficient with laboratory software including LIMS, and computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and SharePoint. Ability to work independently and manage repetitive tasks with high attention to detail. Previous experience with plant or agricultural samples is preferred but not required. Education

Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or Genetics is required. Additional Requirements

This position is 100% onsite and located in a commercial laboratory environment. The role is not research-focused, and is ideally suited for candidates seeking a routine lab technician role in support of customer-based analytical services. Candidates must be comfortable with repetitive tasks, routine testing, and high sample volumes.
