Our client, a Mid-Sized Social Services Organization, is seeking a Controller to join their team and lead all accounting, audit, tax, systems, and financial reporting responsibilities. The selected individual will report directly into the CFO and lead a team of 3.

Oversee all accounting operations, including cash receipts/disbursements, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger management, closes, financial reporting, and audits Oversee restricted fund management and government grant billing, ensuring accurate reimbursement submissions, supporting grant applications and reporting, and partnering with Development on financial tracking and reconciliation. Support the full budget lifecycle, including development of agency-wide budgets, revenue and expense projections, accurate system uploads, and ongoing budget vs. actual analysis, while ensuring proper allocations, maximizing contract claims, and providing financial reporting to stakeholders. Establish and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures. Manage business systems staff, coordinate with IT on financial software implementation, and support automation of finance functions. Oversee treasury through cash flows analysis and projections, reconciliations, deposits, and recoupment data, to ensure accurate reporting and clear visibility of the organization's cash position for leadership and the Board. Manage payroll operations and collaborate with HR on benefit plan administration, pension plans, workers' comp, medical plan renewals, and process improvements Provide financial information to Board Committees (Investment, Audit, Finance), coordinate budgeting and results analysis, collaborate with Legal on insurance and risk management, and review pledge and agreements for accounting accuracy. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; higher education a plus CPA or Public Audit experience is required Minimum of 5 years of non-profit accounting and finance leadership experience within a Social Services environment GAAP, GAAS, and non-profit tax / regulatory understanding Strong management and communication skills
