Structural Engineer - Bridge Structures Location:

Duluth, MN; Minneapolis, MN; Eau Claire, WI

Summary

As a Structural Engineer specializing in bridge structures, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining client relationships while delivering top-quality structural services. This position requires a minimum of five years of post-graduate experience, independent engineering judgment, and the ability to be self-directed in project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Analysis & Design:

Perform analysis and design of structural systems and components, focusing on bridges of various sizes and scopes. Develop and review plans, details, calculations, and specifications for construction or fabrication.

Project Oversight:

Direct Engineers-in-Training and technicians in preparing proper documentation. Conduct site observations and inspections of bridge construction projects. Perform structural condition assessments of existing bridge structures.

Client Relations:

Work with clients to develop and maintain bridge management programs. Prepare reports and oral presentations for both internal and client use. Maintain project budgets and deadlines to ensure client satisfaction.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in various roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering (PE) license. At least five years of post-graduate experience in bridge design and inspection for highway or railway infrastructure. Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Robot Structural Analysis, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AASHTOWARE). Strong understanding of applicable codes and regulations (e.g., AASHTO, AREMA). Familiarity with wood, steel, and concrete bridge systems. Experience with historic bridge structures, design approaches, and construction techniques. Knowledge of DOT and/or Class I Railway standards and bridge program formats. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel up to 25% throughout the U.S. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Compensation

Base salary range: $75,000 - $125,000/year, dependent on education, experience, and technical skills. Benefits

Some assignments may require visits to construction work sites and industrial facilities regulated by OSHA or MSHA, which may involve rough terrain, stair access, work from heights, confined spaces, mobile equipment, and other typical conditions.
