Retail Buyer and Event Partner , collaborating closely with the
Conference Services
and
Events
teams to develop customized product assortments for corporate groups, tournaments, and special events. The individual will work directly with external companies hosting conferences at the resort to curate premium gifting solutions and branded product that reflect the prestige of the Pebble Beach experience.

Buying & Product Development
Source, select, and purchase premium products for group gifting, corporate events, and conference programs.
Develop custom merchandise assortments that align with brand standards and client objectives.
Partner with vendors to explore personalization, co-branding, and exclusive offerings.
Maintain awareness of trends, lead times, and inventory planning to support advance booking.
Strategic Sales Planning
Collaborate with Sales, Conference Services, and Event teams to identify upcoming group opportunities and secure retail participation.
Proactively plan annual group merchandise calendar aligned with resort events and corporate bookings.
Build tools, presentations, and lookbooks to support site visits and sales team proposals.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Serve as the primary retail liaison for group clients, ensuring a seamless experience from concept to delivery.
Attend site visits and client meetings to present product options and make recommendations.
Develop long-term partnerships with corporate clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
Achieve or exceed annual revenue and profitability targets for group merchandise.
Monitor cost of sales, margins, and vendor negotiations to ensure financial objectives are met.
Track and analyze group retail performance, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
Partner with warehouse, fulfillment, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely order processing.
Create standard operating procedures for group merchandise fulfillment and delivery.
Ensure all group orders meet Pebble Beach quality standards and brand presentation guidelines.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail buying, merchandising, or corporate gifting; hospitality or luxury brand experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of vendor relations, pricing strategies, and product customization.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a client-service mindset.
Highly organized, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven leadership experience to manage a team of 3.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
