About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, people-focused
Safety Manager
to lead and strengthen our safety culture across all areas of our Caterpillar dealership - including shop, field service, parts, facilities, and transportation operations. This role blends hands-on engagement with strategic program leadership to ensure that every employee goes home safe, every day.
As a key member of our Corporate Services team, you'll serve as the subject matter expert and cultural champion for safety - developing programs, conducting training, leading incident investigations, and partnering with leaders at all levels to continuously improve how we work.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of companywide safety programs in compliance with Cal/OSHA and federal regulations. Partner with branch and department leaders to align safety goals with operational objectives and business performance. Track, analyze, and report key safety metrics and trends to drive accountability and data-informed decision-making. Conduct annual safety assessments and coordinate corrective action plans. Hands-On Field & Employee Engagement
Perform regular site visits across all 7 branch locations to assess working conditions, observe practices, and connect directly with employees. Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions tailored to field technicians, shop teams, and drivers. Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence. Promote a proactive "see something, say something" culture that encourages open communication and personal ownership of safety. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable Cal/OSHA and federal OSHA regulations. Ensure compliance with required documentation, inspections, and reporting (e.g., OSHA 300 logs, injury reports, facility inspections). Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, workers' compensation carriers, and insurance representatives as needed. Qualifications
5+ years of progressive safety experience, preferably in industrial, construction equipment, or heavy service environments. Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA standards and practical application in field and shop environments. Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred. CSP, ASP, or equivalent certification preferred (not required). Proven ability to lead safety initiatives through influence, collaboration, and communication. Strong presentation, training, and relationship-building skills - comfortable engaging employees at all levels. Willingness to travel regularly between branch locations (approx. 25-40%).
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business or other closely related field; and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Safety Professional credentials preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

The pay range for this position is $115,000.00 - $135,000.00. Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
