Position Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Friday, rotating schedule for Saturdays 9am - 2pm.
Role:
To preserve the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral and minimizing losses on negative deposit accounts.
Essential Functions:
Contacts delinquent and negative balance accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current/positive. Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are successful. Documents all contacts with detailed notes and reports on collections activity. Prepare reports as assigned. Testifies at legal proceedings as required. Informs management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans. Performs other duties as assigned. Performance Measurements:
Ensure timely contact with members to inquire about re-payment intent. Ensure timely contact with members to inquire about negative balance intent. Maintain accurate, timely and complete records of all collection and recovery activity. Provide informed and professional assistance and support to all members and associates, to resolve inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. Skills:
Six months to two years of similar or related experience. High school graduate or GED. Must have good communication skills Prefer someone with the ability to communicate in Spanish and English Must have qualities that are consistent with our CORE Values:
