MICS Programme Analytics and Performance Monitoring Consultant Duty Station: DAPM, Data & Analytics Section – Data Collection Unit

Home/Office Based: Remote

Purpose of Assignment The Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) Programme is UNICEF’s flagship household survey. The consultant will assess the financial sustainability of MICS and provide analytical support to the global management team.

Scope of Work

Maintain an updated overview of all MICS surveys in a centralized monitoring system or dashboard.

Collect and verify updates from regional and country offices on implementation progress, timelines, and milestones.

Support the preparation of management briefs, tables, and visual summaries for internal reviews and reporting.

Support financial monitoring of survey implementation (national and donor funds).

Track MICS-related funding, including national and donor budget allocations, expenditures, and fund utilization by country and funding source.

Provide support for specific technical assistance in survey design, data processing and dissemination.

Contribute to financial summaries for management and donor reporting.

Assist in development and maintenance of dashboards (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to visualize survey implementation status, funding flows, and key performance indicators.

Ensure regular data validation and consistency across tools.

Support coordination meetings, webinars, and internal knowledge‑sharing tools.

Support fundraising proposals and contact key donor partners.

Terms of Reference / Key Deliverables Dashboard Development and Annual Report

Design and implement a centralized monitoring database to track financial contributions, technical assistance, and survey implementation progress across regions. Conduct system updates and produce dynamic dashboards (Excel/Power BI) showing survey timelines, progress, and key milestones. Prepare bi‑monthly 2‑page management briefs and organize sessions on MICS financing and implementation.

Deliverables milestone dates:

- 30 Dec 2025: system update and dashboard design.

- 28 Feb 2026: additional system update and management support workshop.

- 30 Apr 2026: bi‑monthly briefs and workshop organization.

- 30 Jun 2026: methodological workshops and SharePoint updates.

- 30 Aug 2026: fund utilization tracking and strategy note on donor engagement.

- 20 Oct 2026: draft narrative analysis of financial inputs.

- 20 Nov 2026: final report summarizing progress and lessons learned.

Qualifications

University degree in business administration, project management, economics, social sciences, statistics or a related field.

Coursework or certification in project monitoring, data management, or financial analysis (asset).

At least 3 years of experience in project management, data analysis, monitoring, and financial tracking.

Experience with Excel, Power BI or other data visualization tools.

Familiarity with UNICEF operations or other UN systems is an asset.

Experience in MICS implementation or similar national household surveys is an asset.

Fluency in English required; knowledge of French, Russian, Arabic, and/or Spanish is an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious relationships with national partners.

Requirements Upload academic credentials and provide a financial proposal including costs per deliverable, total lump‑sum, travel and subsistence allowances, and other estimated costs.

Covered travel and related expenses will be financed by UNICEF. At contract award, the selected candidate must have current health insurance coverage. Payment of fees is based on approved deliverables.

U.S. Visa Information Non‑U.S. citizens holding G4 visas and green cards must change status to G4 and obtain an Employment Authorization Card if residing in the U.S. Eligible candidates require a G4/EAD to work.
