E-Commerce Manager

to help grow and maintain our rapidly expanding online business, which serves as PURPLEs digital flagship. This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of the brand. Reporting directly to the Head of E-Commerce, the E-Commerce Manager will be responsible for the daily strategy and operations of our digital channels. This includes managing product setup, driving omni-channel initiatives, optimizing merchandising, and collaborating closely with the Head of E-Commerce and Customer Service Manager to ensure a seamless, elevated customer experience. Key responsibilities include leading operations across all online platforms, overseeing performance marketing strategy and budget, optimizing inventory, and managing logistics, returns, and customer service. The role requires a data-driven, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is resourceful, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative setting. They are comfortable working across departments, wearing many hats, and balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day executionall while keeping the customer experience at the forefront. Key Responsibilities: Website Optimization & Product Management Execute new season/product setup on Shopify, including DTC collections, web exclusives, and preorders, ensuring seamless and timely launches. Manage the full product catalog across the brand website and marketplaces: extract product data from ERP, upload via Matrixify, and quality-check all imagery, copy, and pricing. Conduct weekly product audits to ensure descriptions, photography, inventory, and fit information meet brand standards. Partner with Ecommerce production to optimize shop the look and cross-recommendation merchandising based on engagement and sales data. Oversee general site maintenance, including navigation, homepage updates, IG shop-the-look, About, FAQ, and Customer Service pages. Identify and troubleshoot site bugs, while working with development teams to implement new features and optimizations. Write engaging, accurate product copy and collaborate with external copywriters on seasonal projects. Re-merchandise homepage and collections weekly to keep the site fresh, seasonally relevant, and aligned with business priorities. Monitor GA4, Shopify, and sales/returns data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to identify trends and inform site strategy. Track and analyze return rates by channel and category; develop initiatives to improve product performance and reduce returns. Buying & Inventory Management Partner with Planning on buying/replenishment order flow across digital and marketplace channels. Stay up to date on deliveries, recuts, replenishments, and preorder timelines to ensure accurate product representation online. Collaborate with Marketing and Content teams to align inventory availability with promotional goals. Operations, Logistics & Customer Care Co-own Customer Care strategy with Operations, ensuring alignment with CS policies and identifying areas for process improvements. Monitor stock, order flow, preorders, and returns across digital/marketplace channels; act as key stakeholder in resolving integration issues. Support customer segmentation initiatives and contribute to the omni-channel VIP program. Manage omni-channel rollout, creating SOPs and working with retail teams to ensure smooth integration. Marketplace & Partnership Growth Identify and evaluate new marketplaces and partnership opportunities to expand the brands digital footprint. Secure organic or paid marketing support from partner platforms. Ensure smooth operational flow for drop-ship and marketplace partners, optimizing the customer experience. Reporting Deliver weekly performance reports, highlighting opportunities and areas of concern for senior management. Provide insights and recommendations on website performance, inventory, and customer experience improvements. Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Planning, or related fields. Proficiency with Netsuite, Shopify, Matrixify, GA4, and Excel (ERP/WMS experience a plus). Strong attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written communication skills for product copy and reporting. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. A proactive, hands-on attitude with a passion for continuous improvement.
