Responsibilities
Maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that reflect current standards of nursing practice, company, and facility philosophy of care and practices while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff. Monitors practices for effective implementation and achievement of results.
Conducts resident assessments, suggesting level of needed service packages to residents and their families, as directed.
Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care evidenced by adequate services and staff coverage for the facility, appropriateness of staff, absence of odors, cleanliness, absence of pressure wounds, and apparent maintenance of optimal physical, mental and psychosocial function.
Demonstrates knowledge of and application of key clinical quality indicators.
Reviews 24‑hour reports from every unit daily to ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, use of restraints, injuries, abuse/neglect, medication errors, resident property loss or dissatisfaction.
Lists and documents significant changes in resident condition; including incidents, injuries, medication errors, property loss or evidence of dissatisfaction per agency policies and state regulations.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Two‑year professional nursing experience in a senior living care setting.
Two‑year supervisory/management experience with direct care staff.
Some states may allow this to be an unlicensed position (WI, TX, SC).
