plays a vital role in reducing hospital-acquired infections (HACs), improving patient outcomes, and maintaining infection metrics below national benchmarks. This position oversees
infection control practices (ICP) across all hospital units
, conducting audits, educating staff, and promoting compliance with best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee ICP surveillance activities to identify infection control risks.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement initiatives to minimize infection risks for patients, staff, and visitors.
Collaborate with departments to enhance policies and procedures that strengthen infection prevention efforts.
Educate staff on infection control standards and best practices.

Qualifications
Education
Required
: Bachelor's degree in
Microbiology, Biology, Nursing, Public Health
, or a related field.
Preferred
: Master's degree in
Microbiology or Nursing

Additional education considered with relevant experience:
Master's in
Public Health
Bachelor's/Master's in
Epidemiology
International Physician Degree (validated by
World Education Services [WES]
)
Certifications
Required
: Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (
CBIC
) within
12 months of hire
.
Preferred
: Medical Technologist certification (
ASCP
) or
Texas R.N. License
.
Experience
3-5 years
of clinical experience across multiple patient populations.
1-3 years
of leadership/management experience.
Experience with
electronic medical records (EMRs)
, data reporting, and analytics preferred.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
