About The Company We represent an early-stage robotics startup based in the U.S., building rugged, scalable robots for situational awareness in hazardous environments. Their technology supports firefighting, emergency response, public safety, oil and gas, defense, and industrial operations. Their mission is to create a new generation of reliable, scalable robots that provide critical solutions in some of the world’s most dangerous environments.
The company is backed by top-tier investors and is actively collaborating with more than 80 major fire departments, law enforcement agencies, industrial teams, and military units across the country. Their robots are built in partnership with the people who need them most—first responders, firefighters, and emergency crews.
They're still early, a tight-knit team developing the next generation of our robot after multiple prototypes, demos, and pilots. Joining now means helping shape not just the product, but also the company, culture, and mission from the ground up.
About The Role Our client is looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer who will take ownership of mechanical systems from concept to production. You will design, build, and test parts that operate in high‑temperature, corrosive, or water‑heavy environments, often as part of electro‑mechanical systems. You will work through every stage of the product lifecycle and help shape how the product performs in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Own complex systems from concept to production
Design and test mechanical solutions using 3D CAD and prototypes
Validate concepts quickly through testing and iteration
Run strength, reliability, and assembly analyses
Lead design reviews and collaborate across engineering teams
Create detailed engineering drawings with GD&T
Work with suppliers to ensure high‑quality production
Build and test jigs, fixtures, and tools as needed
Assemble and test systems for performance and integration
Document designs, test results, and recommendations
Communicate with users to refine requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
2 or more years of experience in mechanical design and analysis
Experience with full product lifecycle from design to production
Skilled in CAD and FEA software such as Solidworks or Ansys
Familiar with GD&T
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering
3 or more years designing robotic systems
Experience at a high‑growth startup
Strong entrepreneurial background or experience at an early‑stage company
Expert in GD&T
Additional Requirements
Willing to work extra hours for key milestones
Comfortable with hands‑on work, including assembly and field testing
Open to mentoring teammates and improving team processes
Communicates clearly and gives feedback early and often
Skills: mechanical engineering, mechanical analysis, ANSYS, SolidWorks, engineering drawings, product life cycle, AutoCAD
