What You Will Do The Johnson Controls Mechanical Engineering Co‑Op/Intern will be responsible for various engineering activities within the water mechanical Fire Suppression Engineering Department. Reporting to the engineering manager, interfaces directly with engineers, technicians, test lab, and other departments within the company as needed.
Duration January – May 2026
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering
Demonstrated knowledge in the area of Mechanical Engineering
Hands‑on mechanical aptitude desirable
Familiarity with machine design
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
Possess strong problem solving skills and be detail oriented
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work within a team environment
Flexibility to work on multiple projects and coordinate priorities
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
HIRING HOURLY RANGE:
$20-24/hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
