1 Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=POWERENGINEERS&cws=44&rid=18651) Civil/Structural Engineer - Renewables Power Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking an energetic, self-starting team member with a strong structural engineering background to perform engineering design activities for all aspects of renewable projects. This position will report to the Renewables Department Manager in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. A hybrid and/or in-office work environment is preferred; however, a remote role may be considered and is dependent on the individual’s level of experience and proven ability to work remotely. Responsibilities ·All aspects of civil and structural design including preparation of steel performance drawings, fabrication drawings, foundation design and construction inspection. ·Development of steel and concrete construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules. ·Support of substation physical design with bus analysis calculations and coordinating with multiple disciplines on results. ·Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements. ·Occasional travel is required to build relationships with team members and clients. ·Understand and implement client specific design standards. Required Education/Experience ·BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering) degree from an accredited college. ·Familiarity with Finite Element modeling; Risa3D or STAAD Pro. ·Familiarity with steel detailing. ·Foundation analysis design software experience (LPile). ·The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel. ·Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship. Desired Education/Experience ·5 – 10 years of experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV) is a plus. ·Ability to independently create foundation and structural calculation packages. ·Understanding of ASCE 7 and ASCE MOP 113 loading requirements. ·Ability to perform basic civil engineering tasks. ·AutoCAD or MicroStation experience is a plus. ·Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. ·Professional engineering licensure is a plus.
