Job Summary:
As a pivotal role in our dynamic Body Engineering team, we are on the hunt for a Senior Design Engineer who specializes in Exterior Trim, Mechanisms, and Glazing. This role is essential for driving the design and development of exterior systems that blend form and function, setting a new standard in automotive excellence. Our ideal candidate is a proactive, solution-oriented professional with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, making significant contributions to the design and launch of world-class vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering design, packaging, release, and launch of exterior vehicle components. Develop cutting-edge exterior systems prioritizing quality, functionality, cost efficiency, and reliability. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration benefits the vehicle as a whole. Utilize world-class engineering tools and innovative approaches in supporting system development. Manage project timelines to ensure deliverables are met according to launch schedules.
Must-Have Skills:
Proficient in complex CAD modeling, preferably CATIA V5 or V6. Extensive knowledge of thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies. Demonstrable experience in the design and development of vehicle exterior components including glazing systems.
Industry Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in vehicle exterior component design and development within the automotive industry.
