Job Title:

Student Worker - Politics Department

Job Summary:

The Politics Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to assist with various administrative and research tasks. The student will assist the Administrative Assistant, the Department Chair, and faculty. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic academic environment. The position is open to sophomores. Preference will be given to Politics students.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

Assist with filing, data entry, and maintaining departmental records.

Research Assistance:

Help faculty with literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.

Event Coordination:

Support the planning and execution of departmental events, seminars, and workshops.

Communication:

Manage social media accounts, update the department's website, and assist with email correspondence.

Errands:

Perform on-campus errands, such as delivering documents and materials.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled as a student at the university.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Interest in sociology or related fields is a plus.

Hours:

Flexible, with a commitment of 10-20 hours per week.
