ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Senior Plant Controls Engineer for our client in the Nuclear Industry!
Responsible for interfacing and supporting geographically diverse and international design team members to develop supporting design documentation. The design team members include in-house and subcontracted resources and may include partner/customer resources as well.
Support engineering and review of instrumentation and controls scope for use in sodium fast reactor and integrated energy storage technologies.
Oversee Lead Designers of I&C and supporting electrical systems from systems and sub- system functional requirements through final design.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline from an accredited university and 15+ years direct experience with proven instrumentation and controls systems
skills. Higher education will count toward years of experience.
Candidates must have experience in the following areas of application:
Instrumentation and controls experience with design development, testing, commissioning, or diagnostics on a commercially available distributed control system platform.
Managing, supervising, or leading projects or work scope delivering design for industrial I&C platforms.
Familiarity with developing advanced process control strategies including
coordination of overall plant controls to maintain stable control within target design margins.
Familiarity working with and/or developing control narratives and logic diagrams.
Familiarity working with IEEE and IEC standards that support I&C.
Familiarity working with and/or developing industrial process flow diagrams (PFD) or piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID).
Experience or familiarity desired but not required in the following areas of application:
Familiarity with RTIME PPC systems (Curtiss Wright) or RTP I/O and controllers (RTP Corp).
Nuclear reactor safety systems, controls, or nuclear instrumentation systems.
Implementing design control and development in accordance with nuclear power plant quality assurance (e.g. 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1).
Experience designing and operating high-temperature (400°C and higher) processes.
