Transportation Team Leader
to join our growing team and oversee a dynamic portfolio of profitable municipal projects across Oklahoma. This role directs both operations and strategy for a talented team, including profitable growth, client development, and project delivery. The leader must balance team, project, client management, and business development, with access to the tools, resources, and guidance needed for success.
Responsibilities
Lead business development activities including direct client interaction and engagement
Develop a strategic business plan and oversee hiring to support plan execution
Procure, manage, and execute transportation projects for Garver
Provide project management, sub-consultant coordination, schedule management, contract scope and fee development/negotiations, design team coordination, civil design, plan production oversight, cost estimation, client management, and business development
Provide technical competency to serve as a project leader and technical advisor on transportation projects
Participate in marketing activities such as proposals, letters of interest, interviews, and presentations
Foster collaboration between design teams and specialized service providers
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months
10+ years of experience managing diverse transportation projects with a proven track record on large municipal projects (OKC metro preferred)
Working knowledge of AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, and other standard design manuals
Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, or other roadway design software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office

Team leadership skills to recruit, develop, mentor, and oversee a motivated team; balance workload with regional teams; accountability for portfolio performance
Project management skills to prepare scope-of-work and estimates; lead the team to successfully deliver contracted scope, budget, and schedule
Technical experience in roadways/interchanges design, drainage design, construction sequencing and traffic control, and utility relocation coordination
10+ years of team management experience on municipal and transportation projects
Strong business development skills with project and client management experience
Preferred Skills
Experience in consulting engineering with a focus on municipal transportation projects
Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
3D modeling experience
