Position Summary MIM seeks an Associate to join our Private Equity Modeling and Analytics team. The incumbent will perform a variety of financial studies to analyze and report financial information surrounding private equity portfolios, support the team’s analysis and reporting, maintain financial reporting infrastructure, and establish controlled processes. Primary business partners will include the private equity origination team, Accounting/Operations teams, and third‑party vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Calculation and attribution of private equity performance across numerous internal and external portfolios.
Derivation of custom private benchmarks and organization of public benchmarks in the creation of statistical risk metrics.
Calculation of gross and net portfolio performance metrics under actual and hypothetical fee structures.
Monitoring and reporting of portfolio composition across sectors, geographies, and currencies.
Ownership of data processes and reporting requirements associated to third‑party administrators and the tools they support.
Creation of quarterly fund‑of‑funds reporting packages for use by multiple internal business partners.
Creation and maintenance of key exhibits used for the Alternative Investments quarterly package.
Conduct research and participate in special studies using moderately complex models to illustrate potential portfolio changes under various economic scenarios.
Description of private equity net investment income drivers.
Oversight of new investment allocation across the portfolios of internal and external clients.
Required Experience & Skills
Advanced problem‑solving abilities and communication skills.
2+ years of operations experience in the financial services industry, capital markets or investment products.
Excellent multi‑tasking and time‑management skills.
Ability to work independently and within a small team.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to present and communicate financial data concisely and clearly with conclusions and recommendations.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.
Prior experience with private equity.
Familiarity with private equity software platform iLevel.
Prior experience with Bloomberg.
Compensation & Incentives Expected salary range: $100,000 – $125,000. The role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation and stock‑based long‑term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
