The Trade Analyst’s main function is to review and price export cargo opportunities and to assist an assigned Sales region in meeting its export budget as determined by Trade Management. A deep familiarity with customer accounts and an understanding of international trade markets is required. Daily, a Trade Analyst collaborates with local and global Sales agents, Line Managers in Marseilles, commercial support departments (contracts, amendments, tariff filing), Customer Service groups, and other Trade colleagues to complete these tasks. Secondary functions include backing up a Trade Manager in their absence, maintaining service contracts, and creating and analyzing commercial reports. The Trade Analyst also constructs new proposals, reviews lanes in existing contracts to maintain current business, and prices within LARA SQ for non-contract customers and overseas FOB requests. The Analyst must stay informed on service changes and market conditions within their designated region, evaluating market reports and data from Sales, and communicating daily with the Home Office and overseas agents.
