Primary Role The Commercial Lines Senior Account Manager works collaboratively with the Producer and Account Executive managing a book of business. Coordinates and provides day‑to‑day service for property/casualty clients by maintaining client relationships, supporting client retention, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and understanding client needs. Serves as the day‑to‑day contact and provides resolution for client questions and issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages a book of insurance business, acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision‑making.

Serves as primary point of contact for large or complex clients; often leads client discussions and presentations.

Possesses deep technical product knowledge including lines and coverages; helps develop client strategy with Account Executives and Producers or independently.

Provides professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations.

Supports Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business; owns and grows relationships with key clients.

Makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to changes; anticipates issues and proactively resolves complex problems, often without direct supervision.

Acts as liaison between clients and carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and judgment; may also negotiate with underwriters and carriers.

Troubleshoots billing issues and maintains overall retention of accounts in the assigned book of business.

Organizes and leads client meetings when necessary and documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives in HUB computer systems.

Prepares reports for management as required and oversees functions performed by Account Administrators and Account Managers.

Supports, mentors, and trains Account Administrators and Account Managers as needed; attends industry training and courses.

Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in an Account Manager role in a brokerage environment.

Large Commercial Account experience required.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

P&C License required or able to obtain within 120 days from hire.

Advanced professional designation preferred (e.g., AAI, ARM, CIC, CPCU).

Physical Requirements The position requires regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Travel by car to meet clients and outside events may be required.

Other Requirements

Must hold a valid Driver’s License.

Dependable transportation and ability to work in an office environment.

Additional Skills

Public Speaking/Language Skills – Able to speak effectively with customers and teammates; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Math Skills – Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability – Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.

Computer Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); follows guidelines on working in BMS (EPIC).
