Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Building Sciences team as an environmental consultant focusing on air monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for air monitoring services and project oversight on asbestos abatement projects and other sampling/monitoring projects.

Key Responsibilities
Perform oversight and air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects in accordance with AHERA, TDSHS, and OSHA guidelines.
Perform tests and sampling of environmental materials including, but not limited to, air and building materials.
Perform standardized and sometimes complex field tests as directed and/or special inspections as required.
Assist with asbestos surveys and other sampling/monitoring projects in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines.
Conduct air monitoring and clearance sampling during asbestos abatement projects.
Calibrate and operate air sampling equipment, collect samples, and maintain accurate field documentation.
Conduct inspections in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing inspection results, including sample locations, material condition assessments, and laboratory analysis summaries.
Ensure all assessments are completed within project timelines and budget.
Assist with asbestos, lead paint, and mold surveys and other sampling/monitoring projects, as qualified.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to support project.
Maintain a utilization target of 90%.
Perform other project duties, as assigned.
Licenses
TDSHS Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician and Project Manager or AMT Project Monitor (Required)
TDSHS Asbestos Inspector (Preferred)
TDSHS Asbestos Consultant (Preferred)
NIOSH 582 Training for Analysis by PCM (Preferred)
Qualifications
Current air monitoring technician certification (as required by state)
1-3 years of field experience in Environmental Consulting, preferably Building Sciences.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in report writing and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site.
Flexible work schedule including flexible hours, occasional weekends, overnight travel, and out-of-town mobilization up to 3 weeks.
Work Environment Field work is required; candidate must be comfortable working on active construction sites and in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary depending on project needs.
