At the University of California, Berkeley, the Building Manager (4484C) CITRIS role is dedicated to fostering a community where every occupant feels welcome and can thrive. The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute (CITRIS) leverages the research strengths of UC campuses to shape the future of technology. This position involves the long?range planning, organization, coordination, and oversight of multiple operational activities and services for one building. Responsibilities Serve as liaison between all occupants, including faculty, staff, and students, for repairs and preventive facilities maintenance. Conduct regular periodic rounds to inspect areas for security, fire, and accident hazards and take appropriate action as required. Coordinate emergency repairs during and after work hours. Oversee and process online reservation requests for CITRIS rental venues. Schedule and coordinate the use of CITRIS recharge rooms and advise clients on room reservations and event logistics. Maintain and operate the colleges conference room facilities, including furniture, AV, renovations, etc. Write and revise room use policies to comply with campus and COE requirements. Coordinate direction of maintenance and repair service requests of Campus Facilities Services as well as outside vendors or organizations for the assigned facilities. Oversee all aspects of processes, policies, procedures, and record keeping for key systems, including ordering, distributing, and maintaining key inventory and electronic lock and key card systems. Monitor building access requests, granting access upon review and approval. Coordinate with the NanoLab and other building partners to provide a safe and secure environment and keep current on emergency preparedness training. Gather, track, and monitor existing space allocation plans and yearly desk allocation reviews for graduate students. At the request and expense of a building faculty member, work with onsite contractors and vendors to coordinate work schedules, track progress, and minimize disruption to building occupants.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Thorough knowledge in building space planning, codes, capacity, security, fire safety, and organizational principles and procedures involved in risk assessment. Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective problem solving. Knowledge of architectural or engineering concepts. Excellent multi?tasking and prioritization skills to manage daily activities effectively.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation range: $89,992.36 to $133,731.15 yearly ($7,499.36 to $11,144.26 monthly). The position is 100% FTE, career, exempt under FLSA, and paid monthly. Full benefits are available for eligible California law employees. Conviction History Background
