We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Counselor to join our team at Ruben Trejo Dual Language Academy. As a dual language Spanish-speaking school, proficiency in both English and Spanish is essential. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Fluency in both English and Spanish.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, students and parents.

Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment.

Passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.

SALARY: Responsibilities For students in all grades: Provide personal, social, academic, and college and career guidance. Provide referrals for individual and family counseling to outside resources. Provide classroom guidance activities. Support individual and whole school crisis intervention. Support Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum and delivery. Support Human Growth and Development (HGD) curriculum and delivery. Ensure all students have access to a comprehensive school counseling program. Communicate with all stakeholders. Facilitate, coordinate and manage 504 plans. Coordinate student conferences with staff and family members. Monitor achievement of students and work collaboratively with staff to provide appropriate interventions. Provide information to parents/guardians regarding student progress when requested. Provide support and information for students who are transitioning to a different setting and/or location. Collaborate with staff in identifying students who need special programs and facilitate that placement. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal/designee. Work with students on the development of leadership skills. Collect and analyze achievement, discipline and school climate data in order to promote student achievement and engagement. Be acquainted with and provide information, resources and leadership around cultural competency as it relates to student achievement and engagement. Be acquainted with and provide information, resources and leadership around bullying and harassment as it relates to student achievement and engagement. Knowledge of elementary, middle, and high school pathways to support student's successful transition. Qualifications

Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification at the residency certification or professional certification level. Knowledge of the curriculum and of unique student characteristics at the elementary school level. Ability to interpret test results to students, parents, and teachers. Demonstrate ability to conduct effective individual, small group, and classroom guidance/counseling activities with students. Demonstrated ability to assist students and families to help locate community resources. Demonstrated ability to communicate with all stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with school staff. Demonstrated ability to work with the public, such as community groups, volunteers, etc. Knowledge of district policies and procedures pertaining to student rights and responsibilities, student records, attendance, confidentiality, and special programs. Ability to assist in the general operation of the school as a member of the school staff. Demonstrated familiarity with, and successful implementation of culturally relevant counseling strategies. Demonstrated success in working with student on appropriate prevention/intervention strategies. Knowledge of laws relating to child abuse and neglect and ability to effectively intervene. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing elementary to middle school transition programs, including pre-k to kindergarten and elementary to middle school. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff. Demonstrated familiarity with, and successful implementation of restorative practice strategies. Knowledge of a comprehensive school counseling model and how it is implemented in the school setting. Additional Information

Work Schedule - Days and hours (listed above) are subject to change depending on program and district needs. Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays - Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement as negotiated. Benefits Highlights:

When employees meet plan requirements and retire, they are guaranteed a monthly benefit for the rest of their life from the employer-funded pension.

Employees can also participate in voluntary savings programs to increase retirement savings such as the DRS Deferred Compensation Program or by participating in a 403(b) retirement plan through the District's plan manager, OMNI.
