Position Overview The Executive Director & Actuary, ALM will contribute to a wide range of enterprise-wide initiatives, including ALM, asset modeling, economic and required capital, financial reporting, and short-term financial planning. It involves extensive interaction with other RGA departments and offices to manage ALM risk, optimize the global portfolio, and deliver actionable recommendations. This is an opportunity to learn about the risk management framework and develop knowledge of the wide variety of products and markets in the global portfolio.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise with respect to initiatives including ALM optimization, asset modeling, economic and required capital, scenario analysis, financial reporting, and financial planning.
Manage production of asset projections for risk management, financial reporting, financial planning, and other ad hoc needs; participate in global risk and project committee meetings with actionable information.
Ensure company risks, constraints, and dimensions are modeled accurately, supporting risk-return tradeoff analyses and risk management policies.
Aid business segments with validating and managing their ALM data, models, and metrics.
Enhance the company’s ALM projection, optimization, and analysis infrastructure.
Develop and execute project plans to meet department goals.
Contribute to special projects as requested by senior management.
Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, Statistics or a related field.
FSA accreditation.
7+ years of actuarial experience in the life insurance industry.
Advanced experience with Prophet, ideally including the Asset Liability Strategy Library.
Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Advanced actuarial technical skills for developing analytics that explain variation from expectations.
Advanced knowledge of life, health, and annuity products.
Advanced ability to model various insurance products and reinsurance structures.
Advanced knowledge of GAAP, statutory, and tax valuation and financial reporting.
Advanced PC skills with actuarial systems – spreadsheets, databases, and projection tools.
Advanced project management skills.
Ability to influence large global teams.
Ability to work well independently and within a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
Advanced adaptability to new methods.
Ability to foster a teamwork and customer service focused environment.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Advanced interpersonal skills across disciplines.
Preferred
CERA and MAAA accreditation.
Reinsurance experience.
Programming experience in Prophet, VBA, and SQL.
Reinsurance industry and product knowledge.
In‑depth understanding of ALM methodologies, economic capital modeling, and local regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with life insurance company financial statements.

Compensation Range $135,850.00 – $207,700.00 Annual.
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long‑term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
