Talent Acquisition Partner @ Quanta Services, Inc. Job title: Concrete Project Manager / Estimator. The role oversees the full lifecycle of concrete projects—from pre-construction estimating and bidding through planning, coordination, and execution. This dual role ensures accurate project cost forecasting and competitive bids while managing project timelines, budgets, and teams. Works with Quanta OPU’s, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and safety. Pay
Base pay range: $85,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr. This range is provided by American Eagle Ready Mix Utah LLC. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Responsibilities
Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Prepare bid proposals and ensure competitiveness while meeting company margin goals. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to clarify project scope and resolve discrepancies. Maintain a historical cost database to improve accurate future estimates. Project Planning & Coordination
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, material requirements, staffing, and equipment needs. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and clients to confirm project specifications. Organize and schedule concrete deliveries to meet project deadlines. Work closely with QC/Service Foreman to align daily schedules, deliveries, and quality expectations. Lead and supervise QC-Service, batch plant personnel, and drivers, including oversight of third-party relationships. Ensure proper training and adherence to safety practices. Manage daily operations, troubleshoot issues, and adjust work plans as needed. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure concrete mix designs and applications meet specifications. Conduct inspections and coordinate with quality control teams to verify compliance with codes. Maintain documentation of quality tests, mix designs, and approvals. Cost Management & Budgeting
Develop and manage budgets based on awarded projects and estimated costs. Track actual vs. estimated costs and implement corrective measures as needed. Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors for cost-effective procurement. Scheduling
Prepare and oversee project schedules, including labor, materials, and equipment. Track progress against schedules and proactively address delays. Safety & Risk Management
Implement and enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Conduct safety meetings, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans. Communication & Reporting
Maintain communication with Quanta OPU’s, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Prepare schedules, cost updates, and progress reports for leadership. Draft and issue correspondence as needed. Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
Address on-site issues such as delays, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns. Make decisions regarding substitutions, labor allocation, and logistics. Oversee third-party procurement of concrete materials and ensure timely delivery. Track material inventory and manage on-site distribution. Qualifications & Skills
Estimating Expertise: Proven experience in concrete estimating, take-offs, and bid preparation. Project Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage concrete construction projects from pre-bid through closeout. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of concrete designs, construction methods, and quality control. Leadership: Ability to lead diverse teams and manage subcontractor performance. Financial Management: Skilled in budget creation, cost tracking, and value engineering. Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex issues under tight deadlines. Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safe work practices and compliance. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of preparing clear reports and professional correspondence. Deliver accurate estimates and competitive bids. Successfully execute awarded projects on time, within budget, and to spec. Maintain strict adherence to safety standards. Proactively address delays or risks to ensure accountability.
