Knife River Idaho is seeking a driven and experienced Structures Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who thrives in both the office and the field while balancing precision in preconstruction with confident leadership on active job sites.

This position will play a key role in bidding, planning, and executing concrete structure projects including DOT bridges and heavy highway construction. You’ll work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to ensure each job is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following

Review drawings, specifications, and visit job sites to determine scope of work Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and prepare complete cost estimates Submit timely and competitive bids to owners, contractors, and agencies Assist with client planning, pricing, and project design needs Coordinate project execution with superintendents and field leadership Support project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and billing Monitor and track job costs, production, and material needs Maintain daily communication with owners and project stakeholders Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (MSHA, OSHA, DOT) Provide problem-solving support for material, labor, and equipment issues on-sit

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience Experience with public and private sector projects Excellent communication and leadership skills 5+ years of experience in a PM/Estimator role in heavy highway or concrete bridge construction Proven experience working on DOT bridge projects Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required Strong understanding of concrete structures, job costing, scheduling, and managing field crews Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction software (HCSS preferred) Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to dynamic project demands
