Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for an electrical engineer.
Responsibilities include:
The design of electrical systems for public or water/wastewater facility projects
Preparing plans and specifications of electrical systems for bidding and construction
Technical support on large and/or complex projects
Providing construction administration and site visits
Mentoring staff; coordinating work and communication between subcontractors, teaming partners and suppliers
Client management
Some travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in electrical from an accredited college or university
At least six (6) years of relevant electrical engineering experience
A PE in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states within six (6) months of hire
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
Experience with designing electrical systems for public and water/wastewater facilities (water/wastewater collection, pumping/treatment and discharge)
Designing electrical systems using power analysis software (EasyPower, SKM Power Tools, or similar) and lighting calculation software (Visual Lighting, AGI32, or ElumTools)
Codes, statutes, standards and laws related to building design and construction
Experience with arc flash hazards
Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD) and pumps
Understanding of medium voltage distribution systems
Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
Experience mentoring less experienced engineers
Experience with power system studies, system planning and operations, and equipment specifications
Knowledge of/experience the coordination with other engineering fields
